D.H. Lawrence, in his famous book Sea and Sardinia, wrote that Sardinia was a land like no other. The sea around this second largest Mediterranean Island is among the most beautiful and transparent in all of the world. Sardinia is also a land rich of history and culture witnesses. The numerous nuraghi, which are spread all over the island, occupy a very relevant place among archeological sites that have been left in the Western Mediterranean basin by the various cultures which have, over the centuries, lived in these lands. Sardinia's capital is Cagliari, located in the Southern part of the island.

Sardinia has all the ingredients for paradise on earth: a spectacular coastline, rugged mountains, great beaches with clean water, and a country-side teeming with an astonishing variety of birds and other animals, shared only with a small number of (...and quite discreet...) people. Discover local culinary treats featuring fragrant fresh herbs, suckling pigs, lobster and the famous bottarga (pressed and dried roe of gray mullet), to be accompanied by full-bodied red or refreshingly light white wines from the island. Explore further to uncover ancient mysteries, archeological artefacts galore, various human-scale museums and plenty of folklore ... read more
We will provide a list of local insider tips at a time closer to the meeting. In the meanwhile, you might want to read up a bit on Sardinia, or have a look at some travel guides to get into the mood (English | Italian). The local government Tourism Council provides a wealth of general information. If you are curious about Sardinian food and wine, we can warmly recommend the council's culinary pages as a starting point.
We wish you a lovely stay in Cagliari and hope you can take the time to explore the old town and the stunning countryside that is in easy reach!
